Beschreibung:

Die sechsjährige Lilo Pelekai lebt seit dem tragischen Tod ihrer Eltern bei ihrer älteren Schwester Nani auf Hawaii. Nani setzt alles daran, das Sorgerecht für Lilo zu behalten, doch das Jugendamt sieht ihre Lebensumstände mit Skepsis und erwägt, die beiden zu trennen. Lilo fühlt sich oft allein und hat Schwierigkeiten, Anschluss zu finden. Eines Tages nimmt sie aus dem Tierheim ein ungewöhnliches, blaues Wesen auf, das sie Stitch nennt. Anfangs sorgt Stitch nur für Chaos, doch nach und nach beginnt er zu begreifen, was Familie bedeutet. Lilo weiß nicht, dass Stitch in Wirklichkeit ein genetisch erschaffenes Alien ist, das von seinem Schöpfer Dr. Jumba Jookiba und dessen Begleiter Pleakley verfolgt wird. Als schließlich die intergalaktische Föderation eingreift, steht Stitch vor einer Entscheidung: Flucht oder der Schutz seiner neu gewonnenen Familie.
