Description

This course is a problem-solving course where I solve over 80 Chemistry questions on material covered in General Chemistry I that are similar to questions on the American Chemistry Society (ACS) final exam for General Chemistry I. Questions in this course were obtained from the American Chemical Society's Study Guide for their exam which is available for purchase from the ACS. Therefore, these problems are the type that you should expect to see on the exam. If you do purchase the Study Guide, you will discover that only a handful of the Study Guide problems show a detailed solution. Most of the problems only give the answer in the back much like your textbook does. In this course every problem is worked out in detail and, wherever possible, additional hints are given for solving similar problems.We used ACS final exam at the university where I taught, so I am very familiar with the types of questions and difficulty level. The exam is entirely multiple choice and for many questions, I will show you how you can eliminate one or more of the possible answers. I also show you why and when you can approximate calculations to save time as the exam contains 70 questions and has a time limit.In addition to the 80+ solved problems, I've included Practice Assignments for each problem that are multiple choice, contain the same difficulty level and also have detailed solutions.
