NOTE:This course has been updated as of late November 2025. This used to be the 2nd of 2 parts of the "Career Development Course". The 1st and 2nd part of the Career development course have now been combined into 1 course and the content of this "Lessons Learned" course is all new.

Experience leadership and innovation through the lens of real events from a 30+ year career in healthcare technology. This course isn't theory or a summary of someone else's research—it's a collection of true stories from my own journey that shaped how I think, lead, collaborate, and solve complex problems.

You'll hear what actually happened during pivotal moments: shifting from engineering to marketing and realizing how different worlds communicate; designing MRI systems at a time when patients were genuinely afraid of the scanner; discovering hidden leadership resources through a military connection; navigating hiring decisions that reshaped entire teams; and of course, the unforgettable experience of collaborating with Pixar—an encounter that completely changed how I view creativity, storytelling, and innovation in healthcare.

Throughout the course, each story is tied to a specific leadership lesson you can use immediately. You'll learn how to listen more deeply to the people you serve, how to innovate around real human needs rather than assumptions, how to lead through uncertainty or pressure, and how to bring clarity, empathy, and purpose into your work—regardless of your role.
