What you'll learn
Inheriting an existing CloudFormation-managed environment without breaking it takes more than deployment knowledge, it takes operational expertise. In this course, Operating AWS Infrastructure as Code, you'll gain the ability to work confidently in CloudFormation environments you didn't build, across both stacks and StackSets.
First, you'll explore how to establish operational context: confirming identity and permissions, reading stack and StackSet state, and tracing a change request back to its source. Next, you'll discover how to preview infrastructure changes safely, identify replacement and interruption risk, and troubleshoot failed deployments by isolating the root cause across stacks and StackSet instances. Finally, you'll learn how to detect drift, evaluate recovery options, and restore infrastructure to its declared state, with evidence captured for hand-off.
When you're finished with this course, you'll have the skills and knowledge of CloudFormation operations needed to make safe, evidence-backed changes in any existing AWS environment.
